Debuting for the first time this year in Hong Kong, Art Basel was established in 1970 in Basel, Switzerland by a group of gallery curators, with a primary purpose to emphasize the connection between art galleries, their artists, private collectors and public institutions.
The islands of the Philippines (consisting of over 7,100 in total), are absolutely brimming with pristine beaches, world heritage diving sites, killer surfing, and five-star beachside resorts. I first came to Hong Kong as a wide-eyed teenager, straining my neck to see the massive buildings that seem to abound on every corner of Hong Kong. I was also amazed at how green the city was, with over 80% of the total city area covered by government-run country parks. The city offers a great dichotomy of fast-paced city living set to the stunning backdrop of picturesque tropical jungles and coastal beaches.
